It's hard to imagine a more accomplished modern-day actor than Leonardo DiCaprio. He got his start in small movies and then grabbed the attention of critics as a very young performer in What's Eating Gilbert Grape. He leapt onto the screen with co-star Claire Danes in Romeo + Juliet.
And of course there was Titanic.
I think the best Leonardo DiCaprio movies came later. He's had riveting performances in The Revenant, The Wolf of Wall Street, Shutter Island, and The Departed. I don't think he got nearly enough credit for J. Edgar.
His latest movie, starring opposite Brad Pitt, is Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. It's a story of a big-time TV star and his stunt double trying to make it in the movies during Hollywood's golden age.
